Messengers

Messengers are trained and anointed by the ascended masters to deliver divine teachings, messages and prophecies to guide mankind. The messenger’s role is to help the spiritual seeker make contact with his or her Real Self or Higher Self.

Mark and Elizabeth Prophet trained rigorously for many lifetimes to prepare for this mission and have left a legacy of thousands of hours of teachings for the spiritual aspirant

The ascended masters work with individuals in all traditions throughout the earth. But when they find people who are spiritually sensitive, they train them to directly receive their messages and new teachings. The masters can also use these messengers to convey their light and spiritual blessing—which helps transform those who hear the messages.

The tradition of messengers, best seen in the prophets of the Old Testament, is ancient. The masters want their friends on earth to keep pace with the spiritual and practical needs of the hour. And they've kept their lines of communication open through their messengers.

In the late 1950s, the ascended master El Morya chose Mark L. Prophet to receive the teachings of the ascended masters. In 1958, Mark Prophet founded The Summit Lighthouse and distributed these teachings in letters called Pearls of Wisdom. Today, the masters dictate these teachings to Elizabeth Clare Prophet.

Elizabeth Clare Prophet receives messages, or "dictations," from ascended masters by the power of the Holy Spirit. When she takes a dictation, she experiences a dramatic increase in vibration and an expansion of consciousness that allows her to convey the words and energies of the master who is speaking through her. During a dictation, she is in a heightened state of consciousness, but she does not go into a trance. She is not psychic or a channel.

There is a tendency to call anyone who purports to convey information from a nonphysical source a "channel" and to describe their work as "channeling." Channeling is similar to 19th-century spiritualism. Like mediums past and present, most channels make psychic contact with unascended spirits on the astral plane. In short, they communicate with the deceased who have no more wisdom than they had when they were alive, however great that may have been. In any case, they do not have the wisdom of the ascended masters, the immortals who have graduated from the schoolroom of earth and have reunited with God in the ritual of the ascension. Because of their self-mastery and oneness with God, the ascended masters are the preeminent teachers of mankind.
