Messengers

            Messengers are trained and anointed by the ascended masters to deliver divine teachings, messages and prophecies to guide mankind. The messenger’s role is to help the spiritual seeker make contact with his or her Real Self or Higher Self. The masters convey their light and spiritual blessings through the messengers—helping to create positive transformation in those who hear the messages.

            The tradition of messengers, best seen in the prophets of the Old Testament, is ancient. The masters want their friends on earth to keep pace with the spiritual and practical needs of the hour. And they've kept their lines of communication open through their messengers.

            Mark and Elizabeth Prophet trained rigorously for many lifetimes to prepare for this mission and have left a legacy of thousands of hours of teachings for the spiritual aspirant.

            In the late 1950s, the ascended master El Morya chose Mark L. Prophet to receive the teachings of the ascended masters. In 1958, Mark Prophet founded The Summit Lighthouse and distributed these teachings in letters called Pearls of Wisdom (still available by subscription).

            The messengers receive messages, or "dictations," from ascended masters by the power of the Holy Spirit. During a dictation, the messenger experiences a dramatic increase in vibration and an expansion of consciousness that allows a conveyance of the words and energies of the master who is speaking. The messenger is in a heightened state of consciousness—not a trance. A messenger is not psychic or a channel.

            There is a tendency to call anyone who purports to convey information from a nonphysical source a "channel" and to describe their work as "channeling." Channeling is similar to 19th-century spiritualism. Like mediums past and present, most channels make psychic contact with unascended spirits on the astral (lower) plane. In short, they communicate with the deceased who have no more wisdom than they had when they were alive, however great that may have been.

            The dictations of the messengers come from the etheric (higher) realm from the ascended masters. These are immortals from the world’s spiritual paths who graduated from the schoolroom of earth and reunited with God in the ritual of the ascension. Because of their self-mastery and oneness with God, the ascended masters are the preeminent teachers of mankind.
