Day Use of the Ranch by MembersMembers in good standing, i.e., current in membership dues, can use the ranch as stated herein after first acquiring permission and guidelines from a member of the Land Management Team, which consists of Alan Shaw and Jon Springer at (406) 848-9200. We recommend that those planning to use the ranch contact a member of the Land Management Team at least 24 hours prior to a planned visit, and even sooner if the visit will be during a weekend or holiday. From September through November, members are not allowed to use the backcountry areas of the ranch (as described on the attached Exhibit A) due to potential conflicts with hunting activities and the commercial hunting lease. And from December through mid-February, members must check first with the Business Office or representatives of the Land Management Team, as activities in some areas of the ranch may also conflict with the hunting lease. Day Use of the Ranch by GuestsMembers may bring a guest(s) onto the ranch if the members first acquire permission for themselves and their guest(s). Members bringing a guest(s) onto the property shall be responsible for the behavior of their guest(s) while they are on the ranch. Overnight CampingMembers who wish to camp overnight may apply for an overnight camping permit from a member of the Land Management Team. The permit will identify the length and dates of the stay, the number of people, the intended camping area, and the current policy on fires and camp stoves. Overnight camping at times may be limited to only designated areas or be prohibited entirely due to specific wilderness and/or wildlife conditions. No open fires, candles, sterno burners or other fire materials are to be used on the ranch property except in designated campground areas, unless otherwise prohibited in those areas. Preserving the Beauty of the LandHarvesting of herbs in moderation for personal use is permissible. Cutting or removing trees, bushes or fallen wood in any form from the ranch is prohibited. A permit is required from the Land Management Team for cutting Christmas trees, which may be used for personal use only and not for resale.
Horn HuntingMembers in good standing who have checked in and gained permission to be on the property may hunt for elk horns on the property from March through August and keep the horns that they find. No one else shall have permission to horn hunt on the property without prior written permission from a member of the Land Management Team. Members cannot bring guests onto the property with the intention of horn hunting without prior permission. Horn hunting policies may become more restrictive if needed to protect wildlife from unnecessary stress during spring months. Metal Detectors Use of metal detectors on the ranch is prohibited. Please leave any artifacts that you find on the site and report the location to a member of the Land Management Team. Non-Motorized AreaVehicular traffic on the ranch is limited to the developed roads. Off-road use by motorized vehicles is prohibited. Pets Dogs are not permitted on the ranch without specific permission.
